I’m not going to do a post from being back in Ontario over Christmas - I didn’t really take many of my own photos, and most of you were there for all of it. Instead, I’ll put a wrap on the 2018 posts with a quick wrap up of the last week of the year - and then it will be on to 2019!
Read MoreChristmas Around Vancouver
December was a crazy month for us this year. I suppose it is most years, but this year seemed busier than most. We did have one nice day where Justine and I got to relax and wander around the city, soaking up some of the Christmas spirit.
Read MoreA Spectacular Fall Day
We have had an amazing start to the fall season. All this week the weather has been amazing - warm, sunny and not a hint of the normal rain we get this time of year. As I was on my own on Sunday, with Justine in Australia, I decided to go for a walk along the sea wall and take some pictures.
Read MoreWhale Watching - at Spanish Banks?!?!
While Lisa and Ethan were in town, we booked a whale watching trip so they could (hopefully) see some orcas. Not only did we see them, the boat ride was less than 5 minutes as they were in English Bay, right off the beach near Spanish Banks!
Read MoreA Quick Update and some Vancouver Pics
A quick post with some pictures I took before we left on vacation. Every year, Vancouver has a 3-day Celebration of Light fireworks show. Most years, there are some added features, and this year there was an aerial display. I got a few pics from the roof of our place as they went by.
Read MoreOur First Night at Bard on the Beach
Each summer, we like to head down to Vanier Park and attend at least one of the Bard at the Beach plays. It’s always a good evening out, and this season they have 3 plays going that I want to see. Our first one was Timon of Athens, which was a play I had not seen previously.

Some shots of the moon and Venus, taken with my new camera.
Read MoreAlaskan Cruise - Departure on Canada Day!
Justine and I were on vacation last week - a real vacation where we were able to disconnect and relax. We were booked on the Celebrity Infinity for a week’s cruise up to Alaska. We had four stops - Icy Strait Point, the Hubbard Glacier, Juneau and Ketchikan. It’s going to take me a while to get through the photos and posts, so you’ll have to bear (literally on one day) with me. This first one is going to cover my thoughts on the cruise in general, a bit of an over view of the ship, and some photos from the departure from Vancouver.
Read MoreVancouver Wildflowers
The city has been working on a new bike path that starts fairly close to us. One of the things they did was plant a wildflower garden along a big stretch of the trail. We had noticed it a few days earlier while out for a ride, so we decided to wander back and have a look…
Read MoreVancouver Sunsets - Bit of a Catch-up Post
It’s been a bit of a busy stretch and I’m trying to work through a backlog of old posts and photos. Justine and I have been good about getting out for walks after dinner, and at the end of May we had a great sunset night. Not much of a post, but lots of photos.
Read MoreUrban Beavers
Justine and I were out for a walk last night, and we had a great visit with some local wildlife.
Read MoreReifel and Urban Hummingbirds
Sunday afternoon we headed over to Reifel to see what new and fun birds we might find. While initially it seemed like it was going to be a slow day, we ended up seeing quite a few news species that I had never seen before. And since it is spring, the theme for the day was nests.
Read MoreA Few Random Spring Photos
This is a short, photo-centric post from the past few weeks. Spring is here in full effect, and the spring blossoms have been spectacular this year. Some I’ve posted a few pics from around the neighbourhood. We also did another day trip to Galiano Island, and there were a few more pics from that day.

This is one of the best event weekends of the year! The Vancouver Rugby 7s was on this past weekend, and it was a seriously fun couple of days!
