Vacation Recap - Hudson and the Laurentians

As I mentioned in the main post of our excellent Montreal (and region) vacation in early June, all the photos I posted were from my phone, and I needed time to look through the photos I took with a “proper” camera. I’m slowly working through those, and this first post covers the early part of the trip in Hudson and the Laurentians. There’s not going to be a lot of commentary here, mainly just (I hope) pretty pictures to look at.

Our first full day, in the morning we headed up to this sugar shack Justine remembered from her time. It wasn’t open, but the old, preserved buildings were pretty amazing.

The next stage of the journey was the ferry from Hudson to Oka. The first stage on our drive north and into the Laurentians.

Our stay at Suites sur Lac on Lac Superior was fabulous. Great little spot to relax. I thought I would share a few pics of the scenery around the property.

Our one outing was a nice little hike in the La Pimbina sector of Mont Tremblant National Park, to the magnificent Chute-aux-Rats. At over 17 m high, it was a pretty nice waterfall. Sadly it was pouring rain, so the photos were not that great.

The park office. Fortunately they had a great little store as we had no bug spray and had not prepared for the onslaught!
