We won the lottery (so to speak) and scored tickets to Springsteen on Broadway, an intimate one-man show in a tiny Broadway theatre. That was all the excuse we needed to book a trip to one of our most favourite cities in the world! Plus you know, New York around Christmas, what's nicer than that?

I had a week in the UK for work, spent mostly inside doing training, but did have a little bit of time to explore around Wales while I was there. And I was able to tack on a weekend in England to visit with friends.
Read MorePortland, Bend and a Fun Mountain Biking Trip
Last week Justine and I took some time off to do a road trip down into Oregon to do some mountain biking around Bend, Oregon. We made a stop in Portland on the way down, had four days in Bend, and then a long drive home on the holiday Monday. We rode some of the best trails in the area, did a day in a bike park, spent some time with friends from back east and generally had an amazing time!

Another old post from the summer. The continuation of my two-week trip to Europe, left me with a weekend to myself, to find some new adventures. I was coming from Copenhagen, and needed to end up in Toulouse, but it was up to me to decide where to stay in between. I settled on Nice, in the south of France on the Mediterranean, as it was a place I had not been before, and it looked like fun.

The next stop on my trip was a couple of days in Denmark. One of our Partners met me at the airport and we drove up to Fredensborg, about 30 minutes north of Copenhagen. It's also home to Fredensborg Palace, the summer palace of the Danish Royal Family. They weren't home, so you could wander the grounds and enjoy the amazing scenery. After some meetings in Fredensborg, I spent the night at a great old hotel, had some meetings the next day then headed down to Copenhagen for the night.

Yes, I still have a bunch of posts to catch up on, but I'm into the last three or four. In June, I had a lengthy two-week work trip to Europe where I made a few stops, before my usual visit to Toulouse. I'm going to do this over a few posts, starting with a quick stop in Paris.

Continuing the surprise visit, Justine had booked us to head over to Vancouver Island. It was actually the weekend after my birthday, and was on Dad's birthday, so we had lost to celebrate. We had a fun time exploring our provincial capital, and had perfect weather for doing so.

This past weekend Justine headed down to Las Vegas to meet Shawn and Leanne for some fun in the sun. It was a fun, busy weekend and we got to check out the sights and visit some favorite spots. Shawn and Leanne were there for the CONEXPO-CON/AGG & IFPE 2017 heavy equipment show, so we got to check that out - and had a surprise visit with Uncle Dave and Linda!

We had an incredible last full day on the Big Island. We got to see the lava fountain into the ocean; watched an active lava flow creep across the island, and walked on lava that had hardened less than 10 minutes earlier. Then we drove some of the incredible coast, and stopped at some amazing waterfalls. We wrapped up our day at Volcano House, and had dinner in the glow of the crater.

Friday was our day to transition from the Big Island to Maui. We didn't have a lot of time to explore, but we saw some cool stuff on the Big Island before the quick flight to Maui. We didn't get up to much on Maui, but got settled in and checked out Lahaina.

Our second day in Hawaii was packed full of adventure. We started the day with a trip over to the crater at sunrise, followed by a hike along the Kilauea-iki Trail. We spent some time exploring the nearby town of Hilo and some amazing gardens, before heading out on our evening adventure to the summit of Mauna Kea! Our busiest day by far, on what was turning out to be a not very relaxing vacation.

Justine and I got married five years ago this week, and so we wanted to head back to Hawaii where we got married, to celebrate the occasion and enjoy some R&R in the sun. This will be the first of a number of posts, and will likely take a while to get through. I have lots of photos to get through, and lots of work travel coming up.
