Reifel Visit

We were having a very nice, sunny day in Vancouver, so Justine and I thought we'd wander down to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary to enjoy the sunshine and see what interesting birds were about. Sadly, the clouds were hanging out over Delta so we lost our sunshine. Still, we had a nice couple of hours wandering about.

On the way into Reifel, we saw this hawk on a tree branch over the road. I think it's a rough-legged hawk, but I'm not sure.

We were fortunate enough to see two owls on this trip. There was a small saw whet owl that I didn't get any pictures of this time, as well as this great horned owl, who peaked down at us with one eye.
