Another short, interim post. The weather has been so spectacular that we managed to get the roof fully opened this weekend! This is one of the earliest that I can remember in a long time. The gardens are planted, the cushions are on the couch and we’ve cleaned everything up. Here’s hoping we have a nice, long summer to enjoy!
The biggest activity (after pressure washing, which I did a couple of weeks ago) was to set-up the irrigation system. Once summer is in full swing, it get really hot on the roof. Without the irrigation I need to water every day, and the plants just die if we don’t do it. Being on the island as much as we are, the irrigation is a necessity. This year, we got everything set-up with minimal fuss.
Otherwise, it’s pulling the cushions out of the storage locker and getting them up to the roof. It’s not hard, just a lot of stairs to climb. And I finished planting the rest of the garden boxes so hopefully we’ll see some growth soon.
