Time for a Change

We’re going to take a short break from the Maritimes updates (yes, they are going to take a while longer…) as I have some exciting news to share! I have changed jobs, leaving Semtech (Sierra Wireless) after almost 10 years (!) to join my new team at Netgear! I’ll share some more later in the post, along with an update the the week we spent on Galiano at the end of June and beginning of July. It’s exciting times!

More Than a Week on Galiano

I had a rare treat this week - I was spending more than a week on Galiano! We came over on a Thursday evening, I and was staying through the following Sunday to manage the Panorama Lane road rebuild. Justine was taking the ferry back on Sunday night, and coming back over on the following Friday night. While I had a busy week of work ahead of me, it also meant I could focus on a number of projects in the evenings.

A Start to Spring?

After a full three weeks away, we made our first post-snow trip back to Galiano. There had been some storms and other weather, and we were interested to see the state of the place and to start the process of moving from winter to spring. We had lots of projects to do, and it looked like we might have some nice weather to do them in.

A Visit from Mackenzie - Part I

For her 18th birthday (last July), we had offered to organize a trip for our niece Mackenzie to come to Vancouver for a week or so. We finally got the trip organized around Christmas time, and she decided she wanted to come out in February - much to our surprise. As it turned out, she picked a good week! We had snow just before she arrived and a high pressure system settled in that gave us cold temperatures and sunny skies.
