After a full three weeks away, we made our first post-snow trip back to Galiano. There had been some storms and other weather, and we were interested to see the state of the place and to start the process of moving from winter to spring. We had lots of projects to do, and it looked like we might have some nice weather to do them in.

For her 18th birthday (last July), we had offered to organize a trip for our niece Mackenzie to come to Vancouver for a week or so. We finally got the trip organized around Christmas time, and she decided she wanted to come out in February - much to our surprise. As it turned out, she picked a good week! We had snow just before she arrived and a high pressure system settled in that gave us cold temperatures and sunny skies.

After getting back from North Carolina late Friday night, we were on the ferry first thing Saturday morning to head over to Galiano. We had been away for almost a month, so we needed to check on the place and get some work done. Plus, our new water tank had been delivered and we needed to get it hooked up.

We arrrived home from Ontario in the evening on New Year’s Eve. we had a relaxing night at home, spent most of New Year’s Day relaxing, and then headed to Galiano on the late ferry to spend a few days on the island before life gets crazy.
