Trying to Get Caught Up

This post is long overdue, and some photos have been sitting on my hard drive for over a month now. The first part of the year has been a bit crazy, as I had an almost 3-week trip through Asia in January, was home for two days then headed to Vegas for a short vacation.

I'm home for about a week, then I head to San Fran for a couple of days. Needless to say, I'm way behind on a lot of things. While I was traveling in Asia, I did manage to make a number of posts from my iPhone, but I still have a huge number of photos to go through. I will hopefully get a lot of those posts updated in the next little while.

This winter has been very mild, even by Vancouver standards. We've had no snow since last year, and with the mild temperatures, we've been lucky to have a lot of hummingbirds stick around through the winter. I've been keeping the feeder refreshed on a regular basis, and we've had a number of male and female Anna's Hummingbirds come by on a regular basis. They feed at the feeder on the roof, then fly down to a bush outside our front door to rest. It's very cool.

This little female Anna's has been a rare visitor - we've seen the males a lot.
