Starting on Tuesday night, we got a serious blast of winter. By the time it was all done with, we apparently got 28cm of snow, making it something like the 4th biggest single day snowfall in the city’s recorded history. On Wednesday, we got out for a walk in the afternoon, as it was still coming down, to enjoy the snow. We don’t get a lot, and it is a bit magical when we do.
A little before lunch time we headed out for a walk. It seemed many others had similar ideas. Right outside on the hill our neighbors were playing in the snow.
We headed up to 7th Ave., which is our favorite local street. The snow was still coming down pretty hard, but it made for a nice walk.
We worked our way back towards the seawall, and turned back towards home. I was supposed to be working still after all. The path was pretty well cleared, and we even came across a guy that was in a small side by side, that was supposed to be plowing and was stuck in the deeper snow.
Sadly, the walk was not a long one. Less than 45 minutes later we were back home and back to work. We really enjoyed the walk. We so rarely get snow like this, so it was nice to be out in it. Here are a few more random photos, including someone skiing on our hill!
Snowy Galiano - Part 2
While we were not over on Galiano, the cameras meant that we had a good view of the island. It looked like there may have even been more snow on Galiano than in Vancouver.
