Queen's Jubilee Party

After having been traveling for work for a couple of weeks, then off on vacation for a couple more I have a lot of photos to work for. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the posts I did while travelling. I thought it better to get those out, then come back and do some follow up posts, of which this is the first.

While I was in the UK, I got to spend the weekend with my friends Mark, Rachel and Arwen. My timing was amazing as it was the weekend of the Queen’s Jubilee, and Mark’s neighbourhood put on a very fun Jubilee party. I managed to get a few fun pics from the day of the party that I thought I’d share.

The party was a very British affair, with lots of great decorations all set out!

But of course for me the highlight was more time to hang out with Miss Arwen. She and her friends on the street were having a great time. Arwen especially seemed to want to play a lot of ping pong, and we kind of monopolized the table much of the day.

Later in the afternoon, Mark and Rachel gave us a tour of the WWII-era bunker under their house. It’s so cool! Over 1,000 square feet of space built into the hill under their house, with feet of concrete. There are multiple rooms, air exchange and filtration and at the time full washrooms and kitchen. It’s a mess right now, but has such potential to be a cool space to do something with.

The exterior entrance to the bunker. Such a great door.

Inside the bunker. The main room is a big space that could be so many interesting things.

As I said in the main post it was great to spend the weekend with them, especially since Arwen is growing up so fast. It had been over three years since my last visit - hopefully it won’t be quite so long again before I can return.
