Spring Blossoms

As I mentioned in a previous post, spring is finally starting to arrive! I cannot remember so eagerly anticipating a spring in a very long time. I’m going to attribute (fairly easily) this to the fact that other than our trips to Galino, JUstine and I haven’t done anything or gone anywhere in a year now. That is impossible for me to imagine, let alone live through. To say I’m going stir crazy would be a huge understatement.

To try and keep active, we’ve been walking a lot. The last few days we’ve been out and exploring, and found some new spots and lots of new pics of spring as it starts to unfold. If you’re not interested in spring blossoms, you can stop now and move on to something more interesting…

On Sunday afternoon we went to the UBC Botanical Gardens shop to see what they had. We’re looking for plants, trees and flowers to start to repair some of the damage we did in building the cottage. We found a few great additions, supported the local businesses and there were some great blossoms on display near the garden shop.

Going back a day, we had been out running errands and saw this amazing mural we had somehow missed, from the 2020 Vancouver Mural Festival. There’s some amazing art around the city…

Monday, we had a nice sunny day so we went out for a bit of a longer walk to see what was blossoming. We walked just over 8 km, and found some interesting things to shoot.

A tunnel through the blossoms.

There’s still snow on the local mountains, and the city looks amazing.

The rhoddies are starting to bloom…

…but the cherry trees are the stars of our spring displays. I wish you could remove the cars and the people, but you can see the cherry trees running for miles.

You didn’t think I’d make it through without at least one bird in the post did you?

And the bets of the rest…
