Spring-time in Vancouver

It feels like the weather has finally turned, and we’re headed into spring. Justine and I went out for a walk to enjoy the sunshine, and came across quite a few indications that maybe spring has arrived!

As we started out on the walk, one of the gardens along 7th Ave had lots of crocuses, in a variety of colours.

We walked over across 7th, then cut over the land bridge to head across to the park and the seawall. It was a very beautiful day, and it was nice to be outside. I was still attling some jetlag, and the fresh air was great.

You can really see the green colour in the head of the male common goldeneye.

One of the reasons we headed to the park, is that each spring the whole hill fills up with crocuses. It’s really nice, and while i think we missed the peak of them, as many were starting to die off, but it was still quite nice.

As we were walking back towards Granville Island, we got distracted by the birds (as usual). All winter, there has been at least one Steller Jay hanging out in the area - which is something I’ve never seen in the city before. Well, today, we saw 4 of them! No pics, but it’s cool that they are about.
