As mentioned previously, we’re having an amazing autumn. The weather has been spectacular, and we’ve been trying to make the most of it while it lasts. Justine and I spent a late morning out at Reifel wandering about and seeing what was new with the fall migration.

The was still a hummingbird sticking around - a bit late in the season.

Our sandhill cranes were successful in raising a chick, so far almost to adulthood. You can see that the young one doesn’t have any colour in its crest.

The first trumpeter swan I’ve seen at the sanctuary.

I think it’s a Ruby-crowned Kinglet

It’s a poor photo, but we had a peregrine falcon dive into the area as we were headed out.
