I have to apologize for how old this post is - going back to May and my birthday weekend. There had been some signs over the previous weeks/months that something was up - Justine blocking off my schedule for travel, as an example - but I have to say I was pretty shocked and surprised on Friday night.

Justine and I were going to see a standup act downtown, but she had booked us for dinner on Granville Island before the show. IMagine my surprise when we showed up, and Mom and Dad were waiting at the table! I may have suspected something was up, but didn't imagine that one. It was an amazing surprise, and I'm impressed they pulled it off so well.

We had a fun start to the weekend, and Sunday we decided to head out to Reifel and see what was going on with the birds. It's been so long that I don't have much to say about the day itself, but here are a bunch on the best photos from the day.
