Day 16 - Liard Hot Springs to Fort St. John

Our second last day, and a long day on the road. We started in BC at Liard River Hot Springs Park, and ended up in Alberta in Fort St. John BC, right on the BC/Alberta border. It was a pretty long day, but it was probably our best day for wildlife - sheep, moose and caribou. The scenery was pretty amazing as well.

Day 15 - Teslin Lake to Liard River Hot Springs

It was a bit of a long day today, but also a very good one. We were leaving the Yukon, and heading back into BC. I bit bittersweet, as it's been an amazing trip. The day started early (sunrise) and went late (another Northern Lights show), and in between we saw lots of bison, visited the hot springs and finally managed to shave.

Day 12 - The Arctic Circle

Today was the epic day of the road trip. From our base at Tombstone Territorial Park, we made the long drive up the Dempster Highway to the Arctic Circle. With only one place to stop for gas in 400 km of road, there were some risks. To make the trip more manageable, we left the trailer behind, and brought Uncle Dave and Linda with us in Dad's truck. It was an epic 15 hour day - but did we make?

Day 11 - Dawson City and Tombstone Territorial Park

Today was a short driving day, and a nice break from the road. After spending the morning in Dawson City, we headed north to the Dempster Highway, and a short drive to the Tombstone campground in Tombstone Territorial Park. We got in a hike in the snow, and enjoyed a fire in the chilly weather.

Day 9 - Kathleen Lake to Beaver Creek

We spent the day touring around Kluane National Park, first heading south to explore, then north towards the Alaska border. We made a great stop at Tachäl Dhäl (Sheep Mountain) Visitor Centre where we saw a huge number of Dall Sheep (from a distance).

Day 4 - Terrace to Meziadin Lake plus Stewart.

Day 4 was the best day of the trip so far. We saw the Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Park, found an amazing lake-side campsite at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, and did a side trip out to Stewart Alaska to see glaciers, bears and other wildlife. It was a pretty amazing day.
